These web hosting companies provide the quality services to the customers in various methods. There are so many types of web hosting available and some types are mentioned below:

Shared Hosting
With the help of this type of server, an individual can save a huge amount. When it comes to negative aspects then Spamming and blacklisting from various search engines are the major issues. Such issues occur because a lot of sites are allocating to one specific IP address. An individual should ask for a separate IP address for website to protect the user from those issues.

Dedicated Hosting
These servers are a good choice for huge and highly trafficked websites that will need huge amounts of server resources to manage. If you are using dedicated hosting, you can better manage your server resources. The disadvantage is that dedicated servers will charge you usually $50 per month or more. Shared hosting can be purchased for less than $5 per month.
Server Co-Location
If people want to have complete grip on every feature of the web server, then he/she might splendidly decide to purchase one and monitor it by themselves if they are having enough knowledge. Yet, there are probabilities that one is not having adequate resources to maintain the server absolutely safe from power outages, roof leaks, and other issues. So, one requires a data center to maintain it safely and to get rid of such issues.

You need to spend money sometimes or no need to spend money at all to host a web site. You need not spend money to place a web site if you are just experimenting on it or if it’s your hobby or if you are using it as a back up for other site. Spending money for these is waste as it’s just for entertainment. In such situations, you can go for web hosts that are free.

This web hosting is rich in features and is consistent when everything is free with the success of the internet. There are many web hosting sites which has a huge decrease in the advertising market. Apart from these we have paid only models which have few features addition to the web hosting sites. The people who offer free services switched from free web hosting to pay only models. Many others offered their clients with banners, inline ads, JavaScript, flash advertising and many more.

Advantages of Free web hosting

The best thing here is the cost involved in web hosting is free. These free web hosts are at a very good service level and also provides you many additional features including databases and scripting. These scripting and data bases are normally seen in the paid model hosting. These services are the best ways to create back up sites where the testing can be done for the web experts.

Disadvantages of free web hosting

There are also few disadvantages in using free web hosting. We need to show it in the form of advertisements. These free web hosts should cope up with the costs involved. Few of the web sites would want to make more and more money. These free web hosts has also limited space to store, even the files are limited and also the content. This web hosting provides you the features including shopping carts, scripting, database and many more. In some cases, few of the web hosting sites provides you the directories and some free web hosts provide you the sub-domains. The last thing is that hosting on a web site that is free will not give the users a professional impression, that too if the web site is something based on a business or E-commerce.

Choosing the right domain name

Friday, November 19, 2010 posted by admin 11:08 am

The traffic generated on your site is in proportion with the domain name of your website. Apart from a short and concise domain name relevant to your company’s website, consider a few other things to help guide your decision.
A Domain Brand or a Branded domain
Selecting a domain name based on your brand is a better way to attract traffic than going in for a generic based name. Try and decide on a brand name that sets you apart from your competitors without being vague. Customers should be attracted to your domain name because it represents your brand, which in turn should be related to your product.
Be cause specific
Avoid domain names that don’t describe who you are as a company; balance the ability to remember the domain name, with the integrity of a business name. The domain name should be easy to remember, not too long; it should also relate to both your company and the product, yet being attractive.
Think SEO
Search engine optimization will enable your page to rank high in the search engine ratings and increase the traffic to your site. Though it is possible for your company to do this, SEO is done best by professionals while you can concentrate on main business at hand. Do consult a reputed SEO company about your domain name selection.
Choose top level domains
If a .com domain is available take it without trying to compromise by using any other extension. Failing which you can go in for lower domains like .co or .net, etc. From the inception and world wide availability of the internet, the .com domains have been the top level and most favored domains.
Redirect
Finances permitting buy several domain names to allow for redirects to your site. For the same domain name for example bassguitar, buy bassguitar.com, bassguitar.net, bassguitar.co, and more that are available redirecting the customer to you main site bassguitar.com irrespective of where they visit.
Keeping these things in mind be practical and sensible in selecting your domain name, taking the valuable suggestions from professionals, because this is not just about a domain name but a domain name acting like a brand ambassador for your product and company, helping them to grow into a successful business venture over the years to come.

Top Ten List of Fandom Hottness

Saturday, August 14, 2010 posted by admin 7:12 am

This article is going out especially for my fellow lady gamers, geeks, and nerds. I’ve taken it upon myself to make my first Top Ten List of Fandom Hotness. But this list is not just for the chicks. No, the boys can take a lesson from it as well. (HINT: this is what we say we like in our men.)

Now, before I even really get started, let me say that know I left off you’re all time favorite. I, and you, should accept that. But this is my list. You can make your own, but it won’t be as good, or funny, as mine, so recognize and read on.

To begin, I have consulted numerous sources in the research phase of this project, and in doing so realized that there needed to be some sort of criteria by which I had to then be able to fairly weigh and balance my choices.

Rule One: No Limits. That’s right, aside from movie and TV shows, I am including some book and video game characters. I am not ashamed to admit that my first real crush was on Jason from Battle of the Planets.

Rule Two: No actor names. It’s unfair that in movies Antonio Banderas is a hottie, but in real life he’s a gitty acting twit. And how is it possible that the same man who is the silky smooth and dreamy voice of Puss is also the voice of the bee in the Nasonex commercials? There has to be some separation, a line needs to be drawn. And besides, I have no idea what people’s names are. I know Jason Bourne, not the actor’s name, what’s-his-face.

Rule Three: Chatter. There has to be a certain amount of swooning when the name was mentioned to my gal pals. If eyes didn’t roll back, the knees buckle, and a smile slide across their face while saying “Oh Lord” (or there abouts) the guy didn’t make the list.

Rule Four: The cross-section. To be as equitable as possible, and utilizing the resources and the time I had available, I pooled as fairly wide variety of women as I had access to.

Ages: from 22 to 78

Marital Status: Full range – Dating, Engaged, Married, Divorced (one amiable and 2 bitter), and Widowed

Orientation: This is not the Army, I asked. Three “full time” bi’s (their words), one “active” bi-curious (whatever the hell that means), two lesbians, three gay guys; and a clean dozen straight ladies rounding out the group. 21 great minds in total, if my math is right. Confidently, I wouldn’t trust it, add it up again for yourself.

Rule Five: Most important rule of all, each and every one of the ladies whose responses were considered are fans of the genera we love and hold dear. Our fandom maybe be random, but we likes our men.

But just to get you warmed up, here is a list entitled “Also Ran.” There were probably 100 of them at the start, but I wittled it down allowing for time ans space. Again, if your imaginary boyfriend didn’t make the list, e-me his stats and he’ll be eligible for my next list of Fandom Hotness. So, without further ado, here is but a sampling of fine men who for what ever reasons 21 chicks could not unanimously agree on their making the top 10:

Angel (David Boreanaz) from the TV shows Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen)from the movie Lord of the Rings

Boromir (Sean Bean) from the movie Lord of the Rings

Davey Rice from the novels and the movie Jumper (Hayden Christensen)

How the iPhone Saved Apple

Saturday, August 14, 2010 posted by admin 7:11 am

Apple has managed to make up lost ground to Microsoft since the release of personal computers (PC) back in the mid 80s. In the early 80s, one of Apple’s geeks decided to leave the company and started his own. The geek that left was Bill Gates. Bill Gates believed in open technology, allowing his computer systems to be compatible with programs developed by third party vendors. That gave way to the technology revolution that has shaken up the world since the beginning of the 90s when the Internet was first released for public consumption. As PCs users rose by the millions, Apple just watched from the corners unable to stop the rise of a giant by the name of Microsoft.

It’s now 2009 and although Microsoft still dominates the personal computer markets, Apple has managed to become relevant again.

Apple is now the synonymous of stylish, reliability and coolness.

Apple’s Comeback

Millions of consumers world wide now own an apple product and is not a personal computer. For Apple it was obvious that trying to compete with mighty Microsoft for personal computer supremacy was not working. And in 2001, Apple’s strategy was re-designed to come up with a new product where the market was not well defined. Portable music player was the bet and in 2001 the first iPod was born.

The birth of the iPod

At a mere 5GB hard-drive based, Apple unveils the first iPod that sold for $399.00

The market strategy changed from marketing personal computers to how cool it is to have your “Whole CD Library with you all the time” Steve Jobs (Apple’s CEO) tells reporters in a press conference in 2001. As the iPod hits the stores in November 2001, Apple sells 125,000 iPods during the holiday season. And although Apple was first seen as a potential threat to digital multimedia products such as music, for it’s “Rip, Mix, Burn” slogan, Steve Jobs assured the music giants that the iPod will not violate any laws because it was developed to “legally acquire music” and he added, “you have the right to manage it in all other devices you own”

During the Mac Expoworld Expo, Jobs notes that Apple has sold more than 600,000 iPods in the 14 months since it’s launch. By April 2003, Apple added a solid-state scroll wheel with four buttons to the device. By January 2004 Apple increased the number of iPods available to the public by unveiling a whole new line of “mini” iPods. The new iPods where the size of business cards with a storage capacity of 4GB which sold for $299 and included multiple colors such as gold, blue, pink, and green.

By late 2005, iPods were the most popular product of the Apple’s line. And all of this was happening when the hard drive was still in place (this means the device had a slower response) In August 2006, Creative and Apple square off in court. Creative and Apple trade lawsuits in court alleging that both have violated patents, Apple and Creative settle their disputes when Apple agrees to pay a $100 million settlement. Creative agrees to begin making Apple iPods accessories.

10 Ways to Be the Perfect Partner

Saturday, August 14, 2010 posted by admin 7:11 am

Part of the challenge us technology communicators have is the very job itself – being buried in the latest stuff to bring you the ideas and insights that will make your life easier, more fun and more effective.

But by the same token it can often make our downtimes more limited, and in themselves more challenged.

I’m the first to say ‘I neglect you’ to mine other half when I should be able to bellow from the rooftops, ‘I have given you everything’.

I think the old, ginger one out of the Spice Girls said it best. Recounting her last relationship (and there have been a few…) with a geek in ‘Say You’ll Be There’, she squawked:

I’m giving you everything all that joy can bring this I swear
(I give you everything – that’s the other ones that sang that)
And all that I want from you is a promise you will be there
Say you’ll be there (Say you will be there)
Won’t you sing it with me

So, don’t let it slip or slide. There are times when your work is the most important thing on earth. Least, that’s how it feels in the moment. But then think back to when you were in the moment of a spot of ‘lover lover’ and I’m sure you’ll agree, work is worthless, vapid by comparison.

People love people – not productivity. So when your computer tugs you by the sleeve (or you could just have a thread caught between the Y and U keys) or you duck out of bed for a late-night coding sesh, remember this: your partner wants you to show you…

1. Care. Steal moments from the job in hand. Get down the shops and buy her some nice cereal. Or he. Let’s be honest, us geeks don’t all have dangly bits. Care means being there but it also means being excitable and spontaneous. Do something out of the ordinary. And if taking him/her to the theatre doesn’t do the trick, push them, fully-clothed, into a fountain.

2. Can. Be true to yourself and make the impossible, possible. Because you know my friend, there’s no such thing as can’t. Genuinely. I’ve seen numberless examples of things that looked out-of-this-world that were brought down to an Earth level by a stiff constitution and a determination we can all aspire to. And maybe a large whisky.

3. Are strong. You don’t have to pull a cart round the town centre to demonstrate your lack of fragility. Being strong is about making decisions.
